A lawyer by training with a master’s degree in environmental law, Peter has always been involved in issues related to environment, both from legal and technical aspects. Straight after graduation from the Faculty of Law of Eötvös Loránd University (Budapest), he took up duties at the national environmental agency’s local office in Budapest.
Between 2007 and 2011, Peter was working as a seconded national expert at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Environment as legal adviser in the unit responsible for industrial emissions. In this position, he was deeply involved in the adoption process of the Industrial Emissions Directive.
Peter joined the Energy Community Secretariat in Vienna as Environmental Expert in early 2012. In his current position, he manages the environmental dimension of the Energy Community Treaty with a geographical focus covering the Western Balkans countries as well as Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. As of January 2018, he works as Senior Environmental Expert at the Secretariat.
