EU citizens are very concerned about health impacts of micro- and nanoplastics but currently there are large knowledge gaps hindering a complete understanding of whether this high concern is justified or not. Therefore, to collect the necessary scientific evidence for assessing the risk of human exposure to micro- and nanoplastics, the EU Commission recently decided to fund 5 large research projects. These projects form The European research cluster to understand the health impacts of micro- and nanoplastics (CUSP). This event will explain the purpose of the CUSP projects, gather stakeholder input, and inform about the official launch event on June 9th.
