Session 2.4 Greening the city with sustainable urban mobility planning

In collaboration with the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport, European Commission

Cities are invited to tell us about their key challenges for sustainable mobility and how they try to overcome them. We will present the EU urban mobility policy, focusing on the potential of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) to provide long-lasting solutions that are supported by the majority of city residents.

Join us to find out more about what the Commission has to offer for cities to green their mobility and to help them resolving issues such as congestion, air and noise pollution, climate change and road safety. We will emphasise the role of SUMPs as a cornerstone of the Commission's urban mobility policy and share the most recent experiences, best practices and conclusions from the recent SUMP conference. The winner of the latest Award for Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning is also invited to join the session and share their know-how. This award is presented to local authorities or regions that have developed a Mobility Plan satisfying the diverse transport needs of people and businesses, whilst improving quality of life.
