3.1 Nature in the city

This session will showcase different ways in which nature can thrive in our cities providing solutions to urban challenges and increasing citizens' quality of life. It will present how access to biodiversity-rich green areas and Natura 2000 sites deliver a wide range of health & social benefits. It will put in the spotlight cities that work with nature like those in the EnRoute project and show how wise investments in green infrastructure can bring multiple benefits, including economic returns. It will illustrate how successful approaches protecting and restoring urban biodiversity help nature and people within and beyond city boundaries.
