2.1 Greening your city: sharing learnings from the experience of European Green Capital and Green Leaf cities

This session will share the learnings, challenges and achievements, from the experiences of European Green Capital and Green Leaf cities, and help fellow cities deliver on their environmental sustainability ambitions and address global climate change. Through an interactive and lively format, this session offers an opportunity for participants to engage with representatives from cities from across Europe, including Bristol, Copenhagen and Oslo, on their experiences before, during and after being European Green Capital and European Green Leaf Award winners.

Illustrated by inspiring examples of projects and initiatives that engage citizens and local partners to collectively ‘green their city’, the session will be of interest to any stakeholder - European, national and local policy-makers, NGOs, trade associations, think tanks, academia and businesses - with an interest in how to improve the urban environment and create healthier and more sustainable places to live, including aspirant European cities for the Green Capital and Green Leaf Awards
