HOW TO GET TO THE VENUE

Public transport

The bus and tram stops that are closest to the BluePoint Conference Centre are all called Diamant. As there are extensive roadworks going on at the moment, please follow the signs for EU Green Week from the bus and tram stops. The BluePoint Conference Centre is a 5-minute walk from the Diamant bus and tram stop (the tram stop is underground).

From the train stations

  • From the Gare du Nord/Brussel Noord, take tram 25 (direction Boondael Gare).
  • From the Gare Central/Brussel Centraal, take the 29 bus (direction Hof ten Berg).
  • From the Gare du Midi/Brussel Zuid, take one of the following:
    • Tram 4 (direction Gare du Nord) to Rogier, and then tram 25 (direction Boondael Gare) to Diamant
    • The 27 bus (direction Andromede) to stop Montgomery and then a 25 tram (direction Rogier) or a 7 tram (direction Heysel) to Diamant.

From the European institutions (Schuman)

  • Bus 79 from Rond-Point Schuman (direction Kraainem).
  • Bus 21 from Place Luxembourg which also stops at Rond-Point Schuman (direction Brussels Airport or Permeke).

From and to Brussels Airport

  • Bus 12 to and from Brussels Airport also stops at Diamant.
  • After 20.00 in the evening (and during the weekend), the bus to and from the airport is number 21.

By car

There are extensive roadworks going on outside the BluePoint Conference Centre at the moment and, although there is underground parking at the conference centre, it is not recommended to drive there unless you are very familiar with the area. If you do decide to drive, access to the underground parking is from Boulevard Auguste Reyers – you will receive a ticket at the entrance to the car park which must be validated at the reception desk before you can leave.

By Bicycle

The BluePoint Conference Centre has underground bicycle parking if you wish to cycle to the venue. Access also from Boulevard Auguste Reyers.

Wireless internet access will be available to participants free of charge throughout the venue.

Web-streaming

The main sessions of the programme will be broadcast on the website via live web-streaming.

Interpretation

During the conference the Commission's interpretation services (SCIC) will provide simultaneous interpretation in English, French and German in the two main meeting rooms (Einstein and Archimedes). In the third meeting room (Newton) there will only be interpretation to and from French and English, with passive interpretation in all three main languages. There will not be interpretation in the fourth meeting room nor in the side session meeting room, nor in the tent which will be used for the Green Week Café-style sessions.
