Project Applause – Guided tours at IAPS Collection point and Paper and Wood craftsmen laboratories

The project Applause addresses unsolved questions with regard to invasive alien plant species (IAPS) in terms of the zero waste approach and circular economy. At the open doors day at Povšetova 2 and 4, the citizens and the media have an opportunity to join a guided tour around Collection point of invasive alien plant species where they learn more on IAPS identification and eradication and around Paper and Wood craftsmen laboratories where collected IAPS are processed into useful products.

Brief summary:

On 14th of May we organised Open Days at new Paper craftsman laboratory and Collection point for the biomass of invasive alien plants in Ljubljana. In the framework of the project APPLAUSE we are processing the biomass into useful products. One of them is a handmade paper from Japanese knotweed and citizens were shown the process and also made their own paper. There was also an exhibition of several useful products like dining table made of honey locust wood or different paper, made of Japanese knotweed or giant/Canadian goldenrod or other interesting objects and products.
