With the help of risk assessment tool, which reviews various influences that the operator has on the environmental segments (water, soil, air, nature), there is also a practical approach towards raising awareness on environmental liability. Workshop is free of charge. Participants learn about required environmental legislation and get practical advice on how to reduce risk of environmental damage.
A summary of the event in Slovenian and additional photos are available on the project web page: https://ecolexlife.si/2019/05/23/delavnica-lahko-povzrocim-okoljsko-skodo-preverite-tveganja-zrak/
The guest speaker at the workshop, was an expert in the field of air from the Slovenian National Laboratory for Health, Environment and Food. At the workshop, we emphasized that regular control of emissions of substances in the air is one of the good preventive measures with which the company can control and manage its risks of causing environmental damage. We also presented a tool with which companies can check, if they are in compliance with the environmental legislation and which legislation regulates individual areas of operation.
Participants also learned that given the fact that the National Laboratory for Health, Environment and Food can measure the presence and concentration of a variety of pollutants and that, in cases of environmental accidents, it is important to identify them as soon as possible, information and collaboration with the laboratory is one of the important steps in the procedures for identifying responsible emitters. It also contributes to rapid remedying of environmental damage.
